meet our members

Callum Worker

In my spare time, I love to have a throw of darts, play some football, but also go and watch both sports. I love spending spare time doing charity work, trying to grow Miles for Smiles as much as possible so we can support others – that’s defiantly something I really enjoy.

Jordan Parker

I wanted to join a close group of friends to raise money and support charities for people who are less fortunate than ourselves.

I enjoy playing 11 or 5 aside football, dog walking, spending time with family.

I want to be able to help the local community and to be able to give people guidance and support to put them on the right path.

Joe Elkin

I joined the MFS team after I saw the vision Callum had and wanted to help the community by doing something that not only challenged me but supported the local families.

I love playing Football, not only for MFS but for a local team, Marlborough Rovers and Ashby Ivanhoe.
Walking, not only during the MFS challenges but with my cocker spaniel Bella, Watching Football as a season ticket holder at Aston Villa.

Maria Elkin

I joined the team because I believe in what the team is trying to achieve and stand for. I’m so proud of what they have achieved so far and want to play a small part in their future success.

My hobbies include walking my springer spaniel Woody,  watching lots of TV, and I am a season ticket holder at Aston Villa (Don’t laugh, someone has to).

Kev Borley

I’m a busy guy who enjoys quality time with my family which is my beautiful wife Kate and our two beautiful children.

I love motorsports too. I’ve done motorcycle racing, car racing, sidecar racing and raced pretty much anything with an engine lol. I enjoy having holidays away and finding new places to visit.

Obviously the growth of MFS is completely off the charts and everyone in the local area and now surrounding districts are pushing to support MFS in such a colossal way, I think in the next 5 years we will be classed as one of the midlands biggest charities.

Wardy

I’ve been a team member since 2021.

The team needed a support vehicle driver at short notice and volunteered straight away for the Edinburgh challenge which was a great success and raised so much money for a Me and Dee, then the team wanted to do a bigger challenge in 2022. I was fully supportive but very apprehensive about actually completing the challenge after the previous year was so hard but hand on heart I knew the team would get through over 400 miles in 16 days in 2022 and raised an amazing amount of money in hard times that everyone has suffered from the fuel prices and cost of living.

James Welland

I’ve been a team member since summer 2022.

I have always wanted to be able to help others. I followed the MFS team for the last two challenges and was blown away by what they had acheived, so having the chance to be a part of the team was a no brainer.

Although I’m too old i still like to play football! I try to play golf haha. i like having fun and making memories with my family.

Codi Musk

I’ve been a team member since 2021.

I have always liked doing stuff for charity and was given the opportunity to come on board with the Miles for Smiles team.

I enjoy playing football, pool and enjoying family time.

David Harper

I’ve been a team member since 2023.

I joined because I want to use my time to make a positive difference to people that need it and after seeing the great work that Miles for Smiles have been doing, I wanted to commit some of my time to help them reach even more people in need.

I enjoy football, Carp Fishing and Golf.

Joe Grace

I initially joined Miles for Smiles through its football team, then took part in one of the charity challenges. Since then, I’ve organised small events to support fundraising. As a trustee, I’m delighted to be able to help the charity grow and raise more funds to help even more local families.

Steve Lakin aka Stig

I originally joined Miles For Smiles football team a number of years back now and loved my time being involved, knowing we were helping the charity raise money whilst playing the beautiful game. Having recently had to stop playing I decided I needed to help the charity in other ways and knew becoming a trustee would enable me to do this, to help the charity with their events and the numerous things they do for the local community.

Mitch Summers

I joined miles for smiles with the intention of just being a helper to help everyone involved in the charity but also help the familes the charity looks after. Now i have a great feeling of satisfaction helping as much as i can where i can in the local community. In my spare time I like to spend time with family and play padel.
